Yippon

Fantastic food, but appalling service. I have absolutely zero complaints about the food. It was really tasty, well cooked and well presented. It’s probably the best take-out food I’ve had for a long time. Unfortunately, I wasn’t so impressed with the service. I ordered several meals online and went to the restaurant to collect when the order was ready. The restaurant itself is really clean, it has a good atmosphere and it’s very trendy. I waited at the ‘please wait here for collection’ and the staff continued doing what they were doing behind the counter. I waited…and waited and the staff just walked past without any eye contact. After 15 minutes, when a member of staff gave me eye-contact, I was able to ask if they had my order. It was sitting in a bag on the counter. I told them I’d been waiting for 15 minutes and they just handed me bag…no apology. It was really quiet at the time, there were no other customers, and the staff were chatting as they were cleaning trays and worktops. I could have otherwise accepted the delay was due to it being a busy period. Hopefully this was a one-off because the food really was excellent.

Yippon truly stands out as the best in town. The salt and pepper chicken is a culinary masterpiece, perfectly seasoned with a delightful crunch. What sets Yippon apart is not just the exceptional flavors but also the top-notch service that enhances the overall dining experience. From the moment you step in, the staff’s attentiveness adds a touch of warmth to the meal, making it a must-visit for any food enthusiast.
